Southern Tanzania Safaris

With the Southern Tanzania National Parks like Selous and Ruaha, and the lesser known Sadaani, sourthern Tanzania is no way back from other regions of it in housing the African wilds. Most of the parks are less visited so travellers prefer these National Parks to have a peaceful game viewing with the tranquil atmosphere of these remote parks. A time was there when these parks were being overlooked for Serengeti and Ngorongoro Carter. But now the scenario has been changed. More of the visitors are planning to the southern circuit parks to remain away from the buzzing atmosphere of Serengeti and others.

Northern Tanzania Safaris

The Northern Tanzania National Parks, game reserves and the conservation areas locating in the Northern Tanzania are some of the most exciting spots the world has ever seen. While packing for a Tanzania Safari, most of the holiday makers target to this part of Tanzania that displays the most incredible magical show of the animals’ drama for an unforgettable safari experience. The beauty of the vast carter, the marching of the millions of animals, the Mara River crossing by migratory animals, the Rift Valley Lakes of Eyasi and Natron which are the home of Hadzabe tribes and the breeding grounds for the largest flocks of flamingo on earth is really a worthy corner of the vast planet to be explored.

Tanzania Beach Holidays

Tanzania is not always rugged and mountainous or it is not a part to be explored only for seeing the African wilds in their natural habitats. Tanzania hosts some of the top beaches on Earth in Zanzibar. Besides browsing the Stone town’s rich history and magnificent monuments that are displaying the various civilizations are really irresistible. The marine riche lunch and the taste of the sea food at the local restaurants and stalls in the sea are unbelievably delicious. Spending an evening in one of the Zanzibar Beaches while sun will be going down changing the colour of the Indian Ocean from blue to red till the horizon is awe-inspiring.

Mount Kilimanjaro - Kenya Or Tanzania

What would you answer if asked where do the Kilimanjaro stands?

Obviously the 1st answer is the Tanzania: as all those visit to Tanzania trek on it as one of the prime adventurous activity.

Kilimanjaro: the highest mountain in Africa: one of the seven summits in the world that has its top 5888 meters above sea level: is a colossal mountain and is not confined within the territory of Tanzania. It expanses to the border of Kenya: the neighboring country of Tanzania.  Hence we can say it is located on the territory between Tanzania and Kenya.

Kilimanjaro Climbing is getting popular day by day and the strategy shows that every year more than 30,000 people try to reach at its snow capped top from Tanzanian side. Can it be climbed from Kenya?

Yes it can be. The Rongai route is the only trail to approach Mt Kilimanjaro from the North, on the Kenyan side of the mountain. This route is considered more scenic than the Marangu route and easier than the Machame route and has a high summit success rate. Many of the trekkers who want easy and scenic trekking prefer this route to reach at the summit. Climb through this route can be completed within 6 routes.

As like other routes this route would also take you through various vegetation zones.  You would pass by the villages and coffee plantations, attractive forest that shelters a variety of wildlife, through the exotic heather-zone flowers and plants and then through the moorland and so on.  The outstanding photographic opportunity on your way to the summit would captivate your soul and the mind as well.

Just find how both Kenya and Tanzania are related to Mt. Kilimanjaro:

Location:

Mount Kilimanjaro actually lies only 20 km from the Kenyan border and this is why you would get some of the best views of Kilimanjaro from the Kenyan side of the border. Although Kenya already has a much higher tourism rate than its neighbouring country yet Kenya’s tourism board and its tour companies often market Kilimanjaro as a Kenyan attraction.

Flights:

Many people opt to fly to Nairobi rather than Tanzania to get to Kilimanjaro as the former seems to be a cheap flight destination. It’s also possible to take a short flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport from Nairobi.

Kilimanjaro Kenya Route:

No route except the Rongai Route starts form the Kenyan border but this route begins only a few kilometres from the Kenyan border at Rongai Gate and then enters into Tanzanian border. The unspoiled wilderness and alpine desert make this route a highly rated option for the climbers.

The Kilimanjaro Region:

The mountain sits within Kilimanjaro National Park, a large conservation area adjoining the Kenyan border and the three major towns: Moshi, Arusha and Marangu are the towns where mostly the Kilimanjaro Climbing expeditions are initiated. The vast majority of trekking tours depart from these settlements and these also act as trekking hubs with full of accommodation for tourists, and house many trekking companies.

Reaching Kilimanjaro from Kenya:

The simplest and fastest way is to fly to Kilimanjaro International Airport from Nairobi. From the airport; public buses, shuttle services, taxis and airport transfer services are available to get you to the relevant town. The cheaper option is to take a bus from Nairobi travelling to the Kilimanjaro region:  Arusha and Moshi.

What To Choose – Kenya Or Tanzania.

No doubt that both the countries have excellent game viewing capability to combine with the mountaineering. Yet Tanzania is a better option because:
  • You can directly land in Kilimanjaro airport and take a road trip to any of the towns considered to be the hubs for Kilimanjaro climbing.
  • You don’t need to do a separate visa for covering the Tanzanian zone while trekking.
  • You can easily get all things required for the trekking in any of the town.
May it be from Tanzania or Kenya: Kilimanjaro Climbing is one of the most exciting experiences that both the countries provide but Tanzania tops the list in arranging and getting the number of visitors for Kilimanjaro Climbing? Plan your Tanzania Tour with wildrootsafaris.com on this vacation to stand on the highest peak of Africa.
